Day 28: Presentation Day Two

lesson objectives:
  • Gain experience in academic presentations
  • Learn through observation of peer's presentations
  • Provide and receive  feedback from peers on your performance
Here is a breakdown of the presentation process:
1) Presenter presents 5-7 minutes
2) Audience listens attentively// Presenter is being filmed
3) Student ends presentation  
4) We all clap and presenter leaves room for 5 min
5) Collaborate in small groups to provide meaningful feedback  and generate questions(Audience Tasks 1 & 2)
6) Write anonymous written feedback for the presenter (Audience Task 3)
7) Presenter reenters, Q&A takes place and teacher provides brief feedback. 

*At the very end of the unit, students will be given the written feedback and scores from both the audience and teacher.

Part III: Gather  Feedback 


this can be done either at the end of each presenter or on the end of the class. The teacher simply goes around and collects all the student feedback and organizes them according to presenter. (I used four colored papers to keep the presenters organized. You can also just stress that they need to put the name of the presenter!)  Remind the student that they should NOT write their name on the feedback. Explain that formal feedback will be given to them on the last day and that their video will be uploaded into your folders. Please watch it!
