[15-20 min] Warm-Up Speaking Task 9:30-9:50
Wake up! It's time to start speaking. :) Click on the IMPROMPTU SPEAKING TASK or take notes on the handout.

[10 min] Part I: Analysis of Student PPT Warm-up 9:50-10:10
To start today’s class; I will have you open a SAMPLE STUDENT PPT and spend around five minutes "grading" the presentation according to the VISUAL AID DESIGN WARM UP RUBRIC. Then I will have you share/discuss your answers with pairs and as a class. We will not go into detail about this student's presentation  but it should serve an an introduction to the content that we will discuss today in class. Note that this presentation was designed to be presented in a university class.

[20 min] Part II: Lecture/Workshop  10:20
In this part of the class, we will be going through different skills/elements that should consider in the visual design of your PowerPoint. The materials can be found here: VISUAL AID DESIGN PPT and  VISUAL AID DESIGN HANDOUT. However, I will ask you to not open these documents now as I would like you to look at and work on your own presentation as we go through this workshop. I will provide you with a hard copy of the visual aid design handout so that you can use it to "keep you on track" as we go through the brief workshop.

Format of the Lecture/Workshop:
¡  Template Selection (2 min)
¡  Design & Color (  2 min)
¡  WORKSHOP on Template, Design and Color (7-10 min)
¡  Images/Graphics (2 min)
¡  Animation (2 min)
¡  WORKSHOP on Images/Graphics/Animation (7-10 min)
¡  Transitions
¡  WORKSHOP on Transitions (5 min)

As we go through this Lecture in PPT, I will ask you to start working on the visual aid design of your presentation according to the skill being taught. Please ask me for questions! I am happy to help.

[20 min] Part III: Peer Review/Revisions  10:20-10:40
To end today's class, I will have you get into pairs. First you will SWITCH CHAIRS so that you are looking at the other person's PPT. Then, I will give you between 7-10 minutes to go through their presentation with the VISUAL AID PEER REVIEWRemember, that the purpose is not to "judge" or "grade" each other's PPT, but rather provide another perspective and ask questions. After 7-10 of reading, I will have you go through each PPT together with the PEER REVIEW SHEET discussing the points together. This should be about 5-7 minutes each.

Adjustments based on feedback and today's lecture should continue at home as you revise your presentation
