REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR DRAFTS TO CALL ON TUESDAY 3/5
*NOTES FROM LAST CLASS
1) I should have mentioned in the previous lesson on Data Writing and Definition Writing that they are not commonly found together. Definition writing is more common in the introduction part of a paper. Data Writing, however, is found in the body. I apologize for not making that more clear. Please consider them as separate writing skills.
2) Want more Referencing Data Analysis?Open up the the long third article by Basker et al. (2012) and pull it out of dropbox. Click on the following to buttons at the same time: Ctrl F. Then click in the box and type the word Figure. Go through the document noting how the word is used in context. You will see a lot of Summary Writings, substantial use of the verb show and some use of the As-clause.
3) The technique mentioned above is also a useful tool with papers in your own field to analyze the use of words or phrases!
